Based in Dallas, Texas, LaDonna Goetz’s “Two Kinds of Love” gives it’s game away in the title - being a collection of love songs. Her material breathes with an open spacious aura covering influences from contemporary folk to slightly pop inclined songs, recalling singer/songwriter greats like Carole King. Her vocals are both serene and suitably strong, delivering insights and experiences with compassion and honesty.

What Would You Say has a haunting melody line, which chills gently while “What I Wouldn’t Give” is a quiet storm of a performance, complete with rain sounds on the intro. “Angel Lullaby” is rendered with the ease of a crafted storyteller.

Marsha Webb and Emilie Aronson lend helping hands while Marj Troyer’s lead guitar is both supple and accurate, lending light and shade where needed.

If there was ever a case of being killed softly with quality songs, well, “Two Kinds of Love” definitely fits that category. Quiet, but wonderful.
